Vivian Clifton's Music Studio
Welcome!
Vivian Clifton teaches private voice, violin, piano, and guitar in clients’ homes in North Atlanta. Ms. Clifton studied voice under Dr. Maya Hoover and Dr. Greg Broughton, violin under Dr. Barbara Salter, piano under Dr. Pete Jutras, and guitar under Dr. Tony Anderson. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in music from the University of Georgia, having uniquely selected her courses for a focus on pedagogy, as well as Anatomy and Physiology. She constantly studies the art and science of successfully teaching her students the best forms and practices of music learning and performance.
Her own notable stage performances have included the soprano solos in Monteverdi's vespers, Handel's Messiah, Vivaldi's Gloria. Also, she repeatedly sang the national Anthems for UGA sporting events, led worship at a campus ministry, sung in a local tour of Spanish Christmas music, and accompanied herself on guitar at the Athens Country Club and several restaurants. Performing at the beautiful and historic home of the University’s president was a particular privilege and honor during her student career in Athens. The Refuge Dance Company's upcoming performance of Hinds Feet on High Places will highlight a sampling of her compositions during the spring of 2012.
